At Rocheport Services, we are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website or hire us for technical services.
Data We Collect
We only collect the minimum personal data required to provide our services effectively. This may include:
• Contact Information: Name, email address, phone number, and physical address (for on-site home or business visits).
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, and temporary login credentials (passwords/PINs) strictly when required to perform a physical or remote repair.
• Billing Information: Invoicing addresses and payment records (we do not store credit/debit card numbers directly; all digital payments are processed through secure, encrypted third-party gateways).
How We Use Your Data
Your information is used strictly to:
• Respond to your contact forms, inquiries, and custom design requests.
• Provide on-site, remote, or workshop-based technical repairs and web design services.
• Process payments, issue invoices, and manage accounting records.
• Comply with UK legal and financial obligations.
Data Security & Retention
• Data Protection: We implement robust digital and physical security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
• Password Security: Any login credentials you provide to allow diagnostic access are held securely and permanently destroyed/deleted immediately upon completion of the repair.
• No Selling of Data: We never sell, rent, share, or distribute your personal data to third-party marketing companies.
• Retention: We only store personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the services requested or to satisfy statutory UK financial reporting obligations (e.g., tax records).
Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, or request the complete deletion of your data ("the right to be forgotten"). To exercise these rights, please contact us via our website contact form.
Our website uses cookies to improve your browsing experience, analyze local traffic, and ensure our site functions securely and efficiently.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide structural information to the site owners.
How We Use Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
Essential/Strictly Necessary Cookies: These are required for the technical operation of our website, allowing you to safely navigate pages and use core features, such as submitting contact forms.
Managing Cookies
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline them if you prefer. However, please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent certain elements of our website, such as the contact form, from operating correctly.
We operate under a transparent, upfront pricing model with zero hidden fees. By booking a service or approving a quote with Rocheport Services, you agree to the following financial terms:
Residential Repairs & Home IT Support
• Payment Timeline: Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work. Once our technician has successfully resolved the technical issue and demonstrated that the system is operating correctly, the balance must be settled.
• Accepted Methods: In-person or online secure card payment, bank transfer (BACS), Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cash.
• No Fix, No Fee: If we diagnose a device and determine that the technical issue cannot be resolved, or if the hardware is beyond economical repair, the repair labour fee is completely waived. (Note: Our standard £45 diagnostic assessment fee applies only if we identify the exact fault and offer a viable repair solution, but you choose not to proceed with the fix).
Custom Gaming Builds & Hardware Repairs
• Upfront Components Cost: For any repair requiring replacement hardware, or for custom-built gaming PCs, the cost of the parts must be paid for in full upfront. We will provide a detailed breakdown of the required hardware components. Once the parts payment has cleared, the hardware will be ordered and your build or repair will be scheduled.
• Labour Balance: The separate fixed assembly and testing labour fee is due strictly upon completion of the build, prior to or at the exact time of collection/delivery.
• Bespoke Order Cancellations: Custom gaming builds are tailored exclusively to your specifications. If you cancel an order after parts have been purchased but before assembly begins, you will be liable for any return shipping costs or restocking fees imposed by our hardware suppliers. Once physical assembly has commenced, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Website Design Services
Deposit Structure: To secure a web design project and begin initial deployment, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upfront.
• Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance is due upon final project sign-off and approval, immediately prior to the website being transferred to your ownership and launched live to the public.
Business Support & Commercial Invoicing
• Ad-hoc Support: Standard business IT tasks or emergency hourly calls are invoiced upon completion with strict 14-day payment terms.
• Monthly Retainers: Proactive monthly IT system maintenance plans are billed securely in advance on the 1st of each month via standing order or automated bank transfer.
Delayed Payment & Abandoned Equipment
• Repairer’s Lien: In accordance with standard UK common law, we reserve the right to withhold and retain possession of any physical computers, laptops, or equipment until all outstanding labour and parts invoices are paid in full.
• Storage Fees: If a completed device is left with us for more than 14 days without payment or an agreed collection arrangement, a secure storage fee of £5 per week will apply.
• Uncollected Goods: If equipment remains unpaid and uncollected for 90 days with no active communication or payment plan in place, Rocheport Services reserves the right to sell or responsibly dispose of the hardware to recover outstanding labour and component costs, in strict compliance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977.
Customer Data Responsibility
While Rocheport Services takes every precaution to safeguard your files and performs standard safety backups prior to major operating system reinstalls, data backup is ultimately the sole responsibility of the customer. Rocheport Services accepts absolutely no liability for data loss, corrupted files, or software loss resulting from diagnostic or repair procedures. If your data is unbacked up and highly sensitive, you must inform our technician before work begins.
Pre-existing Vulnerabilities & Diagnostics
During the process of technical diagnostics or physical teardowns, pre-existing structural or component weaknesses (such as brittle, aged laptop plastics, degraded motherboard capacitors, or failing hard drives) may completely fail. Rocheport Services is not liable for component failures that occur during normal, professional handling of equipment that already possesses underlying, pre-existing electronic or physical faults.
"Change of Mind" on Bespoke Machinery
Because custom gaming PCs are uniquely built-to-order, we cannot accept returns, exchanges, or offer refunds due to "buyer's remorse" or a change of mind once a build is complete. Physical hardware faults are covered comprehensively under manufacturer warranties, and assembly workmanship is covered by our local 12-month labour warranty.
Project Scope & Revisions
• Defined Scope: All website design projects will be executed according to the initial agreed-upon written brief and quote. Any features, pages, or design changes requested outside of this initial agreement will be treated as "out of scope" and billed at our standard commercial hourly rate.
• Included Revisions: Our standard fixed-price website packages include up to two (2) rounds of design revisions during the development phase. Major structural or design changes requested after the website has been signed off and launched live will be subject to additional fees.
Client-Provided Content & Delays
• Content Deadline: To keep your project on schedule, the client must provide all necessary text, logos, product data, and high-resolution imagery within 14 days of project kickoff.
• Project Stagnation: If a project is delayed by more than 30 consecutive days due to a client failing to provide requested text, content, feedback, or approvals, Rocheport Services reserves the right to pause the project, archive the development site, and issue an interim invoice for the labour completed up to that date.
Third-Party Fees & Hosting
• Ongoing Costs: Unless explicitly stated in your quote, our website design fees cover the assembly and development of the site only. The client is directly responsible for all ongoing third-party platform costs, including domain registration, web hosting fees, premium software plugin licenses, and payment gateway transaction fees (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe).
Remote Access Authorization
By requesting remote support and accepting our incoming secure digital connection, you explicitly grant Rocheport Services permission to view your desktop screen, take control of your mouse and keyboard, and install or remove software necessary to diagnose and repair your operating system.
Client Privacy & Screen Supervision
• Watch the Screen: Remote support sessions are fully interactive. The client is requested to remain at their computer screen for the duration of the session to observe the work being carried out.
• Sensitive Data: It is the sole responsibility of the client to close any confidential files, personal photographs, banking windows, or sensitive documents before granting our technician remote access to the system.
• Session Termination: You maintain complete control and have the right to terminate the remote connection at any given moment by clicking the "Disconnect" button on the remote support window.
Intellectual Property Rights
Unless otherwise stated, Rocheport Services owns the intellectual property rights and copyrights for all text, layout designs, logos, images, and branding materials appearing on this website. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you must not republish, sell, duplicate, or copy material from this website without our explicit written consent.
Limitation of Liability for Website Content
While we make every effort to ensure the information, repair pricing, and service descriptions on this website are accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee its absolute completeness. We reserve the right to modify our service offerings, technical diagnostic rates, and business policies at any time without prior notice.
